What is Vascular Surgery?

Vascular surgery is a specialty focused on the treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the blood vessels, including arteries, veins, and lymphatic systems. Vascular surgeons are experts in diagnosing and treating issues such as atherosclerosis, aneurysms, varicose veins, and peripheral artery disease (PAD). These conditions can lead to poor circulation, pain, and even life-threatening complications if not addressed.

Vascular surgeons use a combination of minimally invasive and traditional surgical techniques to treat conditions, often performing procedures to repair, bypass, or remove blockages in the blood vessels.

• Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD): Narrowing of the arteries that causes poor circulation, often affecting the legs.
